“Curtain” made of perforated sheet steel: from here, in a second narrative level, the perspective of former forced labourers and inmates is introduced.
Their comments are contrasted with the propaganda photos by works and journal photographers.
The exhibition areas “Forced labour” and “Concentration camp” deal with similar if not identical subjects. Much of what is dealt with in “Forced labour” returns in an intensified form in the “Concentration camp” section. A sequence of constants: procedures, circumstances, suffering – no narrative.
