Warhol created portraits of famous Jewish personalities. A list of possible candidates with deletions, Warhol’s relationship with Ron Feldman (the mastermind who had the idea fort his portraits) and a visit to Vienna, where Warhol met André Heller, are the themes of the exhibition. The exhibition design focuses on the different roles Warhol’s work play in this exhibition: Warhol as an artist creating the prints, the artist himself as a model documented in photographs taken in Vienna, and the permanent public display of his personal actions and life, visible in the private encounters he had with André Heller in Vienna. A monochromatic axis connecting two rooms contrasts with the intense colours in Warhol’s prints.
The themes are linked by minimal spatial interventions. They focus on parallel views superimposing the small-scale objects that are displayed in the center of the rooms on the artwork presented on the walls.
